Join Page Views for Art, Literature, and Discussion

Have you heard? The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco have a book club! Page Views will deepen engagement with works on view by pairing exhibitions with a companion text. Together, we’ll celebrate art history, literature, and the thrill of lively discussion among friends new and old.
Join us for our first selection, The Judgment of Paris: The Revolutionary Decade That Gave The World Impressionism by Ross King (Walker & Company, 2006). In this compelling work of nonfiction, King describes the period surrounding the rise of the Impressionists in France and their larger place in modern art history. This work parallels Monet: The Early Years, the first major US exhibition devoted exclusively to the initial phase of Claude Monet’s career.
Find a cozy nook and settle into The Judgment of Paris in time for our inaugural book club event on Wednesday, April 26, at the Legion of Honor. The event will also take place online through a Facebook Live event. We hope you can join us!
