Encounter the world of contemporary art, explore new ideas, and rediscover your museum. Cross a bridge to the 57th Carnegie International, presented by Bank of America. A Pittsburgh tradition celebrated around the globe since 1896.

On opening day, wander the galleries and discover performances and events activating the exhibition!

Events are on both days unless noted.

  • Forum Gallery, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
    Painters create new works based on the titles of works rejected from early Internationals, which visitors can choose to take home. This activation of Lenka Clayton & Jon Rubin’s project continues everyday throughout the exhibition.
  • Heinz Galleries, 11 a.m.–1 p.m.
    Vietnamese coffee service in Art Labor Hammock Café
  • Music Hall, 11:30 a.m.–noon (Saturday only)
    Karen Kilimnik Programme, featuring a ballet appreciation with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School, followed by a film collage, The World at War
  • Hall of Sculpture, 1–1:30 p.m.
    Local jazz musicians interpret Postcommodity’s monumental installation as a graphic score
  • Music Hall, 2–3 p.m.
    Screening of Tacita Dean’s Event for a Stage, a 16mm film based on stage performances by actor Stephen Dillane
  • Music Hall, 3:30–4:30 p.m. (Saturday only)
    Artist Lynette Yiadom-Boakye leads a lively Tam O’Shanter Drawing Session accompanied by flamenco musicians and dancers.
