Safe Harbors of the Hudson, a large scale redevelopment project in the City of Newburgh that combines housing and the arts, is hosting monthly informational tours. The next scheduled tour will be held on Tuesday, April 11th at 9 a.m.
Safe Harbors, whose mission is transforming lives and building communities through housing and the arts, purchased the old Hotel Newburgh in 2002 and turned the blighted eyesore into the Cornerstone Residence. Named Supportive Housing Network of New York’s “Residence of the Year” in 2007, the Cornerstone is home to 128 adults including the formerly homeless, veterans, those living with mental health diagnoses, artists and low income working adults in need of affordable housing. The project also includes the Safe Harbors of the Hudson Ann Street Gallery, a contemporary arts venue, the Lobby at the Ritz, live performing arts space and the newest project Safe Harbors Green.
Entitled FUTURE EMERGING ART AND TECHNOLOGY, the exhibition presents a series of works of art created during collaborations between six internationally acclaimed artists and cutting-edge scientists.
